J&J's VEGAS PACK
┌────────────────┐
│ BLACK - JACK │
└────────────────┘
(C)1992 J&J GAMEWARE
BLACK-JACK is a home computer version of everyone's favorite
casino card game, Blackjack. All the options are here: you can split
pairs, double-down, take insurance, and so on. The game can be
played using your mouse, or if you prefer, just the keyboard. This
game is intended for home entertainment only and is not to be used as
a gambling device.
┌───────┐
│ RULES │
└───────┘
The game is played with a single 52 card deck that is re-
shuffled before each hand.
From one to three players can play at one time.
Since this is a "dollar" game, and all bet and credit amounts
are in even dollar amounts, all Black-jacks pay 2 to 1 rather than
the 1 1/2 to 1 you would find in a real-time Vegas casino.
The "dealer" will stand on any 17, and will always take a hit
with a hand totaling 16 or less.
All ties are considered a push.
Doubling down is not limited to hands totaling 9, 10, or 11. A
player may double-down with any hand provided he or she elects to do
so immediately after the deal when presented with his or her very
first option of play.
In splitting pairs, any two cards totaling 20 is considered a
pair of 10's.
You may bet from $5 to $200 on each hand.
Each player starts the game with $100, and there is no limit to
how much you win or lose. You can stop the game at any time.

│ PLAYING THE GAME │
└──────────────────┘
BETTING: At the begining of each hand a set of numbered boxes
will pop up in the top right corner of the screen. Start-
ing with Player 1, each player selects a bet amount. To do
this, use the mouse to position the arrow cursor over one of
the numbered boxes and press any button on the mouse to
register the player's bet.
THE DEAL: After each player has placed a bet, the first two cards are
dealt. The dealer's first card is dealt face up, and his
second card is face down.
OPTIONS / Playing the hand: Again starting with Player 1, each player
in turn plays his or her hand to conclusion. An Option box
will pop up in the right hand corner of the screen with up to
four playing options listed (hit, stand, double, and split).
If an option does not apply to the player's hand, it will not
be presented. For example, if the player's hand is not a
pair, that player does not have the option of splitting
pairs.
If a player has black-jack, play is automatically passed to
the next player.
If a player "busts", play is automatically passed to the next
player.
If a player elects to double-down, play is automatically
passed to the next player.
If a player acheives a score of 21, play is automatically
passed to the next player.
(On the left side of the option box is an area with a number
from 1 to 3. This number indicates which player is
currently playing. Be sure to refer to this number in order
to keep track of whose turn it is.)
Each player must conclude his or her turn by selecting the
"stand" option. (Unless, as mentioned earlier, play has
automatically been passed to the next player.)
RESULTS / Dealer's hand: After all players have finished their turns,
the Dealer will play his hand to conclusion, and post the
results of the hand in each player's playing area, and any
winning hands are paid to that player's credit amount.
PLAY / QUIT: Depending on if you want to play another game or not,
move the arrow cursor to the appropriate box, "PLAY" or
"QUIT", and press any mouse button.
KEYBOARD PLAY: If you do not wish to use your mouse, you can play the
game by using the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the arrow
cursor on the screen, and by pressing the ENTER key whenever
pressing a mouse button would be required. However, it is
still necessary to have the mouse and driver installed.

information about the game and help with ordering BLACK-JACK, and
also check out the file READ.ME2 to see how you can actually win a
jackpot while playing any of J & J's VEGAS PACK games.
